Terms of Use for VEYQON Capture.

VEYQON Capture is free to use, for personal and commercial work alike. These terms set out what it does and does not promise.

Using the app

You may use VEYQON Capture free of charge, including for commercial field work. You may not resell it, or redistribute a modified copy of it.

The photographs you take are yours. We claim no rights over them and never see them.

What the record is, and is not

This is the most important thing on this page.

VEYQON Capture produces documentation-grade records, not forensic evidence. The timestamp is checked against independent time servers over the network, not read from the device clock alone — a phone's own date and time can be changed by its owner, so that alone is never trusted for the stamp. When no network sync has completed in the current app session, the record says so plainly instead of silently using the device clock. GPS can be inaccurate, obstructed, or deliberately falsified by other software. A compass can be pulled off true by nearby metal. Elevation from GPS is approximate.

The app records the accuracy of each reading, flags a location the operating system reports as mocked, and flags a timestamp that could not be verified against the network, so that a doubtful reading can be recognised as doubtful. It cannot prove that a reading was honest.

Do not represent a stamped photograph as tamper-proof, or as proof admissible in legal or insurance proceedings, without understanding these limits. Whether it is fit for a given purpose is your judgement to make, not ours.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you photograph and what you do with the result. That includes obtaining any consent required to photograph people or private property, complying with the law and site rules where you are working, and handling the location data in your photographs appropriately when you share them.

A stamped photograph reveals precisely where its subject was at a precise time. Consider that before sending one on.

No warranty

The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any stamped value will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VEYQON is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including loss of photographs, loss of data, or any consequence of relying on a stamped value.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third-party data

Addresses and place names derive from OpenStreetMap; weather from Open-Meteo. Their accuracy and availability are not ours to guarantee, and either may be unavailable.

Changes

These terms may change. The date at the top changes with them, and material changes are noted in the app's release notes.
